Genesis-Ridin the Chief Scenario

Unread postby amfleet01 » Sat Oct 22, 2011 11:37 am

I have the Genesis package on my system. When I try to run the route....Ridin the Chief scenario.....I get about 10 minutes into it and all of a sudden the train goes into Emergency Braking mode. I know G-Trax has this scenario on their radar as one that needs a patch. I have read other user problems with it but no one seems to be having this trouble as I've described. I read that an update will be coming soon through Steam. If anyone has any comments I would appreciate hearing from you.

Does the Genesis have an alerter system? That might have something to do with it.

I have the same problem and after the first emergency braking if you start off again around 2 minutes later it happens again and then again and again. I tried moving one of the specified the controls in the cab as detailed on the GTrax site but that didn't seem to solve the problem. If anyone has a solution . . . .? *!!thnx!!*

The Ridin' the Chief scenario should be fixed already (when the loco was updated to TS 2012 features).

The problem that you have (train going into emergency after a certain time), is the result of the Genesis' alerter.
If you don't move any control within 2 minutes (I think), the alarm sounds and the alerter warning begins to flash on the cab's display. Don't responding to that alarm by pressIng "Q" on your keyboard or the yellow reset button in the cab within some seconds will result in the application of the emergency brake.

The alerter system was the problem. I failed to hit the reset button..."Q" key and that is why the brakes were activating. Thanks for replying to my question.
