New Lights on Old Trains

Unread postby B-24_LIBERATOR » Mon Oct 17, 2011 11:35 am

Hello, I'm new to this forum I figured it would be good to join up so I could get some help on this (and probrably problems in the future as well).

So I love the old steamers, but none of them have the new headlights.. I noticed in the scenario editor that you can place these lights onto the map and I was wondering if it was possible to attach them to the trains?

The default lights can be added to any locomotive, and I'm close to being successful in getting the red light on the back of a passenger car. You'll need to edit the .bin file with RW_Tools or any other good xml editor. Examples can be found in the new RSC updated locomotives in the <Children> section of the code. Look for Frt_Headlight_1.

Uh, is there any step by step instructions on how to do that?

Most of the aftermarket folks are working on getting their engines equipped. The few that don't will require editing, and I plan to update a few myself. If you are tentative about working under the hood, it probably would be better to wait.
