May have stumbled onto something. . .

Ever since the download of TS 2012, I have had one problem after another and have picked through them one by one with some reasonable success. However, ever since the download, I have had one custom route that would crash every time during startup. Other custom routes crashed but would occasionally load and work fine. Any of the routes that came with RW and any of the add-ons would load and run just fine. Even with the TS Engine turned on, I could run these with no problems. I got frame rates in the 30 to 60 range.

I decided to give up on my custom route and start all over, and this time to include the terrain. So for the past three weeks, I have been mapping out and adding GE decals over the terrain over the north half of Louisiana. I have about 50 miles of double-track in place. So I decided that I HAD to run a train, or two. I placed an A-B-B-A F-7 set on each end of the line set them up for AI operation. Click and all ran well in both directions. Well the engines ran fine so I added about 60 boxcars to one of the trains. The scenario ran just great. Later I closed it down, worked on other things and came back later only to find that my new route was now crashing or black screening every time I opened it. This was a brand new route with no assets, other than the map decals and the actual engines and freight cars. The only thing I had changed was adding those boxcars to one of the trains. I thought there had to be a connection! What the heck, if I lose it, I lose it, right? So I went to the main menu, chose my route and clicked on "Open Route Folder". In that folder are four more folders, "Networks, Scenarios, Scenery and Terrain". After opening the Scenario folder, I deleted the scenario, started up my editor and the route opened right up. Hmmmmmmm, I wonder if my old route that crashes every time would benefit from deleting the scenario. I did and the darned thing started right up! ! ! First time I have been able to open that route since the download.

So my conclusion is that something goes wonky after I add rolling stock, or, after I create a scenario. Anyone got any ideas? ? ?
