Missing exe file

Hello to everyone,
Sorry that my first post here has to be a problem.
When I click the desktop icon and sign into steam, I get a message that says, Windows cannot find C:\programfile(x86)\ etc \to the Railworks.exe.
I looked in my computer and followed the path to the Railworks file. I opened that file and did not fine a Railworks.exe file.
I assume that must be the problem. My problem is that I don't know how to fix it.
Thanks for your help in advance and I appreciate it.

You need to verify the game integrity cache.
See this post on how to do it.

Had this happen to me last night. I usually do not have Steam running in the background when I start my machine, and I think what happened was that when I clicked on RW Steam deleted the EXE while it was still loading, and could not replace it with the updated version because the OS still had it running.
Verifying the files did solve my problem.

Verifying the cache solved the problem.
Thanks guys for the help and the quick response.
Thanks for including that link Hawk. I didn't know how to verify the cache.

I discovered Steam deletes the exe files in the Railworks folder before it updates you. We got the update yesterday, so when you see this again, go do something else and wait for the update to happen or you can force it with a verify. Dont really like that it can delete something from my system, but I also have the RW folder structure excluded from Norton.

Steam actually deleted a lot more files than just the railworks.exe I noticed.
I think what might be happening for some folks is that Steam, for some unknown reason, deletes all or most files that require updating. Then if there's a hiccup in the connection to Steam, it forgets that it deleted the files. That's why some folks get that error message saying something about game is currently unavailable and then have to run the verify game integrity cache to get the files back that Steam deleted.
It took me over 2 1/2 hours to update RW this morning. I had to run the verify cache thing 4 times, and that was after running it just to get the deleted files back, and after updating the Steam client, and I'm on a cable modem connection, with a verified connection speed of 1.5 MBs (12 Mbs).
