I am having an issue of water disappearing and then reappearing while editing my route. Never did that before and it's making that portion of the route building rather difficult. Any suggestions anyone?

Send a note to RSC. I haven't noticed this myself.
Cheers!

I've had a similar issue with some routes even with RW2. In world editor, if you mouse over where it should be, it will appear. Double click the asset, the flyout on the right has a detail level. Change it to 8 or above and it should re appear.

Dont have a clue why it happens at random, and apparently the assets occasionally change their own detail level and vanish one day.

The detail level is randomly applied when the object is placed. If the "Highest level" is set to 1, and the "Lowest level" is set to 10, then a random detail value will be set between 1 and 10. Copying and pasting an asset retains the detail level of the object copied. If you wish to force a particular detail level, then you need to set both the Highest and Lowest entries to an equal value in the blueprint (ie: 10 and 10, 8 and 8, etc.).

If your in-game detail is set to a lower value than the assets in the route, then those assets will only appear when moused-over. It's not a bug, but a feature and time saving device.
Cheers!
