SD70Ace Fan Grills Misplaced?

Unread postby MontanaRails » Thu Oct 06, 2011 11:47 pm

I dont know how long its been this way, but the RSC SD70Ace (pack 1) seems to have a problem. The three rear circular hood fan covers/meshes are at track level, about ten feet behind the locomotive. I dont know if its always been this way and because we have them MU'd back to back we didnt notice it, or if something got corrupted just on my system. I'm skeptical of that because I've verified cache and it stays messed up.

Can anyone verify that this is indeed a bug? If so, I'll send an email to RSC.

Same here. It seems to be on both the SD70ACe and the SD70M-2. I moved my eyepoint "inside" the trailing unit behind an NS SD70M-2, and the fan grills are where the rear truck on the trailing unit is. They are completely missing from the top of the locomotive. I don't remember this glitch before TS2012, and I use the SD70 series alot.

I've noticed that the grills jump around or sometimes disappear based on where the camera is looking. Very odd.

Verified here. Noticed the problem while using a single unit to test superelevation. No surprise though. Guess RSC itself is not immune to breakage from The Great Update. **!!bang!!**

Whatever the problem, it is not specific to the SD70Ace. I am having a similar issue with the SW1500. The NS model loads with no top or front grills and the CPR repaint from Smitty's Locomotive Shed loads with the grills visible but a couple meters forward of the correct location. I thought it was loading correcly prior to the update but I can't remember for sure.

Yep, I can verify the SW1500 issue...it seems like a global Railworks problem with grills/meshes. *!sad!*

Derek has a PM. I'm sure he's already aware, but just in case.

It's been like this for over a week now. The bug was introduced in the 6.7c update. It's been reported by a few people...

Just a long shot here, but for those that are seeing this problem do you have Kuju US enabled? MadMike and I just ran into a similar problem where if a child object was not enabled all children after that object would be shifted in position.

I'll try the Kuju US enabled. Its very unusual looking, I'm sure it
will get figured out.

I've have it enabled since day one, this happened after the 2012 update.

The only reason I brought it up is that Mike and I were testing on the TestTrak and Kuju US was _not_ enabled. This why we saw some problems.
