So I thought I might try my hand at reskinning....can't be that hard, right? I've been doing a lot with textures and reskinning rocks of late and I have a good feel for the graphical pathways. In fact, I got some interesting results with sample engine skins already within the live game. My base is the black ES44AC.
But I am getting tripped up in the fine detail. There are two issues I have not been able to resolve despite all the reskin documents and tutorials and Such, all of which got me this far. I have tried the RW Tools copy asset, and copy default asset pathway. I have tried the RW Tools Trial and Error until it's way too late at night method. But I always end up with exactly two issues: missing textures on the cab numbers, and a terribly interesting blue mat that persists in the live game.
So, I whittled it back to absolute bare minimum. I copied all the files from the KuJu\RailSimulatorUS folders to my own structure, and made exactly three changes to the es44ac_black file: the engine name, and the two changes in the attached image. This was enough to get the thing into the game, appearing below. The name of the copied model is ES44AC PV Mojave.
I cannot tell you the amount of editing I did to many files. I tried renaming files. I tried not renaming files. Clearly there is some linkage issue to the cab number files, and it must be something basic I am missing here. It all makes sense otherwise.
Any help deeply appreciated!
