Hi Everyone,

I just registered here and have done some searches bad have not found something like the issues I have.

I just downloaded Railworks 2 from Steam yesterday and out of the box have problems. On many routes I get an error that says "Something bad happened in your program, would you like to save a diagnostic file?" Yes or no the game closes.

Other times I get an error message that tells me a whole number of rolling stock and some scenery can not be loaded. I already verified my download from Steam and I still have these issues.

The only routes I can drive are Barstow / San Bernadino and Castle Rock.

I appreciate any help that you can give me!

I didn't quite have as many problems as you but I did have some. I would have to validate the game cache atleast 3 times a day. Finally I got fed up and deleted the whole game and downloaded again from steam. Problems went away. Someone else here might be able to give you better advise though before you do that.

I have seen people say that they have run the verification from Steam two or three times to get it straightened out. I clear the cache every time I start the game. Other than that I am not sure what else to say. I have just tons on other routes and addon stuff and mine is real stable. I had a lot of the same problems you did early on.

I've also never ever had problems downloading RW and running it. Crashes I've gotten were always because of missing or corrupted content, usually because of something I or my computer did to a route or an asset. It makes me think that those having such fundamental problems might have some conflicting software or incompatible video drivers on their system. !*don-know!* Run DXDiag and MS Repair utilities to see if it turns up a problem with some development sub-system. Game enthusiasts often have multiple versions of such libraries installed.

I clear the blueprint cache (tools and docs tab BEFORE you start the game) before each time I start the game. You may have to verify (thru Steam) several times until it finds no missing files. I have also had to reinstall the Steam client itself. Before you try that, tho, copy your "steamapps" folder. That has all your Steam games in it. Once you reinstall the Steam client, paste that folder back in.

Good luck, and welcome! *&!welcome!&*

I verified like 4 time and dumped the cache. All is well now!

I am very impressed with the sim. This is great!
