A question about the package manager

Unread postby Ilsimen » Thu Jul 28, 2011 4:09 pm

If you click on a package from the list on the left hand side, and it shows up in the "tree view" on the right hand side in red letters, does this mean you are missing some of the required assets to run that particular package? Reason I'm asking is that I downloaded the C&O A route and I thought I read that all assets were included in the additional downloads. But when I try to run the route, the game just hangs there and when I alt-tab out of the game there is an error message on the screen in the background. Something about not being a standard .bin file or something along those lines. I'm just wondering if it's because maybe I don't have all assets needed, and if that's why they are showing up in red in the package manager. Any help would be appreciated.

The standard route or the logging route? Either way, the readme file outlines very well what add on's you need. There are a few payware locomotives. The Challenger, Big Boy, Dicky Jim's Shays for the logging route, plus a few rolling stock here and there.

The most common problem I hear is forgetting to install the SP ScaleRail package. It's a separate download from the Basic ScaleRail. You are correct that when things appear in RED in the Packager or Package Manager, those are items missing from the package. This normally only occurs if you delete some Asset files directly instead of removing them with the Package Manager.
