headlight flare issues 2025

Unread postby buzz456 » Mon Oct 27, 2025 5:21 pm

Over on the DTG forum some members are complaining about a headlight flare issue. Anyone here have any idea what they are bitching about? I have not seen this or don't recognize it one or the other.

What I know of this is that the flairs are disappearing too soon. You can test this by loading a locomotive, turning the headlights on bright, switch to external camera view and draw back from the locomotive. With the last update the disappearing distance has been shortened. You can correct this on an individual basis by going into the lights bin and setting the flair distance to a greater value. Unfortunately, it is a possibility that upon a file verify or update these changes would be overwritten.

Hmm. I have not run a verify in over a year. No need. I ran several locomotives yesterday after my post all in different scenarios on different routes and never saw this happen. Interesting.
