AI blues. . .

Unread postby kcs_fan » Wed Jun 29, 2011 8:07 am

I know I'm still learning and I should be patient but sometimes I get frustrated. I've tried numerous combinations of solutions but none seem to solve the problem.

Here's what happens.

Three AI trains on three different tracks side by side.
All are assigned separate destinations.
They are scheduled to depart at 12:00, 12:01 and 12:02.
All three trains are less than 20 cars.
All are named and all are marked as express freight.
The first train leaves at the appointed time, travels the entire route to it's destination.
The second and third trains just sit there.

I've adjusted times, signals and even switched which one leaves first. No matter which one goes first, the other two just sit idle.

What have I done wrong.
Any ideas? !*hp*!

Sounds like you are having a signal block problem. You might look at the tutorials at this link. They explain how to set up the signal blocks and are well done.
In my opinion a must read for anyone wanting to run multiple AI's.

Do they all travel on the same line?

Yes, they do, under signal from yard to yard. They sit on three different converging yard tracks and their destinations are likewise three different diverging yard tracks at the other end of the run.
