Texture referencing question

Hello,

I would like to release a couple of repaints I have done with the wonderful payware GP9 set, but Im having a problem with a part of it.

In addition to reworking the exterior textures, I had also reworked the interior cab textures for one of the GP9's, and for some reason, I am unable to reference those interior textures within the repaint's Cabview folder.

Here is what I have done thus far:

1. I copied over the entire (default) Cabview folder into the new reskinned folder.

2. I copied and pasted the new reworked textures into my new Cabview folder sitting in my new repaint folder, and answering "yes" to overwrite the existing textures within that folder.

3. I went into the bin and made sure that my new folder was being referenced in the modified bin file to read:
<InteriorGeometryID d:type="cDeltaString">RSC\GP9Pack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\GP9\my reskin folder\CabView\[00]gp9_cab</InteriorGeometryID>

4. saved the bin file

5. Opened RW, and cleared the cache. Started RW, selected the loco, and ... default textures *!sad!*

Is there anyone out there that has any successful experience in changing cab textures within a repaint?

I have had some help by some people here, but I am still stuck.

I am hoping to hear from anyone on the RW Dev Team that can possibly "tip a card" and let me know what I am doing wrong, perhaps?

I would be very most appreciative.

Thank you,

Rich Chargin

I had to do something quick & recogniseable... but I kinda like it, makes the cab nice & warm :)

BTW you can delete all the .ban files, in fact everything except the .geo and the texture folder.

And it automatically picks up the body paint too ( that isn't any real livery, it's what I paint stuff when I'm using them for research, means I don't stick them in scenarios by accident ):

I have seen some older cabs (RS3?) use wood paneling... put in a pot belly stove and it could be a Norman Rockwell moment.

Kali, dogmouse and I are having the hardest time with the custom cab. If we look out any window the engine body shows missing textures, but not the dyna brakes, or walkways.

Any ideas what we are missing?

Make sure you copied the bumpmaps out of the default engine texture folder too; you have to clone the default rather than one of the repaint folders, the cab is looking for *all* its textures in the local engine/texture folder rather than default/engine/texture.

On the other hand now I think about it I'm not sure I did that :p I'll go check & get back to you.
