Hello,
Some of you, like myself, might have noticed that the Machine Rail "Illinois Central 1500 Class" (2-8-2) and "Frisco T54 Mountain" (4-8-2) locomotives have lag issues. I realize that this may only be a problem for some older system's, but I wanted to offer a fix that I found.
I have also purchased the Machine Rail "1921 Baldwin H9 WM" (2-8-0), but have had no lag issues with it, and this got me thinking. So after some experimenting, I found that the issue is in the ".dav" sound files that come with the 2-8-2 and 4-8-2.
So, my fix is to first go into "MachineRail\1921 Baldwin H9 WM\Audio\RailVehicles\Steam\H9\Machine" and copy all of the ".dav" files (And ONLY the ".dav" files.) from this folder and each of it's subfolders. Then, place them into the corresponding folders found in "MachineRail\Illinois Central 1500 Class\Audio\RailVehicles\Steam\1500\Machine" and/or "MachineRail\Frisco T54 Mountain\Audio\RailVehicles\Steam\T54\Machine", respectively.
And yes, you do want to overwrite when prompted.
(Note, the folder "Motion", found in "MachineRail\1921 Baldwin H9 WM\Audio\RailVehicles\Steam\H9\Machine", is called "Movimento" in the other two.)
And, of course, PLEASE make sure you make a backup of the "Machine" folders you are going to overwrite BEFORE you do any of this!!!
That's it. Since doing this, I have not had any lag issues with the 2-8-2 or 4-8-2 locomotives.
David
