Here's a new one. . .

Okay. I have AI five trains in my yard. Four are freight express, one is passenger express. All are bound for five seperate destinations. Express passenger leaves at 12:00 and the rest at one minute intervals. All are under signals from the yard to their respective destinations. Passenger train leaves on time and makes the entire route with no problems. The four freight trains sit in the yard and never depart. Any ideas??? I am baffled. !**conf**!

did you make the mistake of making the time an hour instead of a minute ex: 1200 -->1201 is proper, did you do this? 1200-->1300?

Do you have the yard block with signals. You have to have signals to indicate the blocks.
If you don't then the dispatcher thinks the block is occupied.
If you are not familiar with blocking and signaling check out the second and third set of tutorials at this site

They are really well done.

Thanks so much sleepyto for that link to the tutorials. They really helped a lot! ! ! I can now run 8 trains, passenger and freight, from one end of my route to the other. They leave the yard at one minute intervals and get spaced out throughout the route by the signal system. So very cool! I have a number of passing sidings along the route, so the next thing I want to learn is how to send trains in BOTH directions and have them meet at the passing sidings. Is there a tutorial about that??? Or does anyone have any suggestions? I tried running one train against the flow of 8 but even with departure times set, the single opposing train went all the way to its assigned destination before any of the other trains moved. Should not have happened that way. All comments and ideas welcome! Thanks!

You have to have the one you want to wait at a different priority to the one coming to pass... and then you have to get your timings at the loops absolutely precise, or the higher priority one will just lock the road all the way. And then you need to sacrifice the right sort of goat, etc...

Kali: Would a couple of cats and three dogs do? *!twisted!* Now I am having problems with trains running together on double tracks. (sideswiping each other). I thought is was the track choice I originally made (DE Concrete Clean), so I switched to Bar to San Bern mainline. They still sideswipe one another. And things were going so smoothly, (for me). Bound to be something I have overlooked. By the way, when laying track, the pop out window on the right has a "Collision" button that you can turn on or off. Any idea what that is for?
