Had Railworks been recently updated? I am not sure, but I think the answer to this riddle is yes. I am having a problem folks and I am hoping someone will be able to help me out with this. I am in the middle of building a route and all is good and well. Now, I can't seem to lay any new track in one certain area of my route (the yard). Railworks won't let me lay any multiple sets of tracks but will let me lay down on set at a time until I hit track number 5 or 6 and then I get the famed "something bad has happened" but only after it has frozen up. It's let's me lay track in other areas of the same route, but not the yard. I have cleared the cache several times hoping that would work, but it hasn't. Any ideas? Thanks guys and gals.

this is not a new problem, i have had this in the past with larger styles of routes with multiple tracks......it's why alot of my routes never get finished because i can't find why it does this. i also noticed that if you do it 1 track at a time there will be 1 single track that will give you the same problem, find that and you found directly where the problem is. if anybody knows why it happens i would be delighted.

Ok, so I think I solved this problem or at the very least found a work around for it. I went back and deleted several portions of track that was laid just prior to this problem and then re-laid new track and so far it hasn't yet acted up. So I guess we'll see from here on out if this will work for future issues of the same topic. Thanks for the input. !*hp*!

Remember to make backups of your route folder! I ran into a similar situation when I was laying out a yard, and I could not enter the two tiles the yard resided in with SBHH. My backup was a week old (come to think of it, I will back up right now since I just did some awesome work last night). Luckily Windows had saved a previous version of the file (part of system restore), so I was able to just replace the two track tiles with copies that were 2 days old, and then... well editing the XML to add track is not for the faint of heart.

I wrote about it in my blog (its my RW diary)
