Huh. An Issue With Steam Itself...

My Springfield Line: Springfield - New Haven Route Add-On very randomly became corrupted. A few different sources agreed so I just decided to delete it and re-install it.

I didn't realize how difficult Steam would make doing this. I can't for the life of me figure out how to re-install VNH Springfield Line even though it's in my Steam Library. The option to re-install doesn't appear to exist. So I figured I'd just suffer the $40 and buy it again. But Steam won't let me!

Does anyone know how I can re-install VNH Springfield Line? Please be specific.

Delete or rename the folder for the new haven route to underscore old. Then restart steam. Monitor the bottom of the steam page and observe the downloading.

Post install delete the "old" folder.

You mean here? How would I know which one is VNH? And wouldn't this route already be removed if I deleted it from Train Sim?

It is really quite easy to uninstall and install a route on Steam. Go to your Steam Library, then click on Train simulator and on the right of the screen click on manage my DLC and in the window that comes up type in Springfield then untick the box to uninstall then wait about a minute then tick to install.

Aaaaaaaahhhh...there it is. That's the answer. It's the waiting a minute part that I didn't know. Steam doesn't make that part clear.

Thanks! Everything's back to normal. We learn something new every day.

The other method would have worked as well for those interested.
