AAR 40ft 10-6 Boxcars Not Appearing

The AAR 40ft 10-6 Boxcar repaints from Harry Adkins are the single most desired additions to my fleet. But they're not working. I used the same RW_AssetSetup found with the regular 40ft and 50ft PS-1 Boxcars from Harry and so far they work great. The 10-6 boxcars that I downloaded (CNW, FEC, SOO, etc) appear on the left side of my scenario editor under Rolling Stock per usual. But that's as far as it goes. No boxcar and no sound.

I know that these repaints require a base model, the AAR40ft10-6Box-EL from MainLines and I've downloaded it. As you can see from my screenshot below, that's not appearing either. What am I missing?

Screenshot Missing 10-6 Boxcar JPEG.jpg

I've gone through all these files trying to compare what's missing but this could easily be above my skill level as I don't fully understand the function of everything inside them. Is it possible that the way downloaded files are organized within "Assets" can cause these errors? Here's how the base E-L 10-6 boxcar from MainLines looks inside "Assets." The window on the right is simply what's inside the grayed line on the left.

I'm more than happy to provide more screenshots of my files to help solve these issues. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Side note, just to stress how important this is to me, for a number of years I've been building a very large and highly-detailed 1950's switching terminal set in the fictional city of Doncaster, Connecticut. Given the emphasis on switching, a healthy variety of rolling stock is imperative. Getting these 10-6 boxcars to work would be the final push to a satisfactory inventory that's actually realistic. Below is a small taste...

These need to be in a folder as follows: RailWorks\Assets\MainLines\RailVehicles\Freight\Boxcars
Place your individual folders in the Boxcars folder. Make sure your MainLines asset folder is checked.

Do you have the link to mainlines? I have lost it.

All the models base and reskinned are here in the RWA library.

When you say "these," I assume you mean the base model, the E-L 40ft 10-6 directly from MaineLines. As shown below, I did exactly as you said and nothing changed.

Does this have something to do with that "GeoPcDx" thingamajig?

You manually installed the RWP into the folder. Try running the RWP in the editor so it installs the contents.

I have no idea what you mean. What editor are you talking about? The only editor I know of are the Route and Scenario editors.

So you meant the Package Manager, which doesn't work and I brought this up a year ago.

That thread is as relevant today as it was a year ago.

UPDATE: I hit "Continue" and let that green bar load some more...and of course nothing happened. Experience tells me that I could come back eight hours later and nothing will have changed. But just for the hell of it, I tried the whole thing again and a box popped up that says "These assets are already installed."

So I went into the Scenario Editor and tried placing that boxcar. No luck...BUT now it makes the clinking sound when first placed on rails. And it's doing that thing where it spreads two regularly-functioning cars when placed between them. The E-L boxcar AND all the other 10-6 boxcars are there now...but in ghost form.

Back to a previous question, does this have something to do with that "GeoPcDx" thingamajig? Is there something I should be copying and pasting into a different file?

Here. Unzip this and paste it into the MaineLines Boxcars folder.

AAR40ft10-6Box.zip

Harry's 10-6 boxcar repaints already include the geopcdx file, because Mainelines is offering it for free.
So you don't have to copy it.
If RW_AssetSetup.exe isn't working, do what I do:
- Open the zip or 7z file from Harry with 7zip, find and open the railworks folder inside the zip. You should see an "assets" folder.
- Copy this assets folder to your Railworks folder (the one in your Steam games). What I do is open the railworks folder in Windows explorer and drag the Assets folder from the 7zip window to the explorer window. Just take care not to drop the folder in a wrong place.
- Answer "yes" when explorer asks you about merging the folders or overwriting files.

EDIT: sorry I didn't see Buzz's answer.

Using 7zip, I did exactly this. Nothing changed. I can hear the car when selected but it still doesn't appear.

This makes much more sense. I tried a couple different versions of this but with no success: I can hear it but it doesn't appear. Doing it verbatim brought this very intimidating message...

That doesn't seem right. I'd be replacing all the rolling stock that work correctly.

Perhaps we should back up a step. If the base model boxcars made by MaineLines are all essentially alike then their folder contents should also look alike, right? His NYC Double-Door 40ft Boxcar works perfectly fine. So shown below on the LEFT is what's inside that folder. On the RIGHT is what's inside the Erie-Lackawanna 10-6 40ft Boxcar downloaded directly from Buzz's link. The only difference is the "decal_primarynumber_X.TgPcDx" which shouldn't make a difference. In case it does, I tried moving the E-L 10-6's version of those to the screen shown on the right so they're nearly identical. Again, no change.

Screenshot of Assets 4.jpg

I even tried copy-and-pasting the "RW_AssetSetup" into this file from the file of a freight car that actually works. I ran it and still nothing. I can hear the car but it doesn't appear.

I'm truly stumped. I'm following everything yous are suggesting and there's...*sigh*...something inside preventing this base model E-L 10-6 from appearing. Is it possible to uninstall and reinstall that Package Manager thingamajig so it might work again? Last year it worked fine for a little while...then suddenly stopped refreshing and it's been useless since.

Show me a picture of your whole Boxcars folder. You have to have something in there that conflicts with the file I sent you.

Here's File Explorer opened three times simply because the list doesn't fit in one image. I'll be the first to say that these downloaded files turn into those large Russian nesting dolls very quickly. It does get confusing with files withing files within files within files... But much of this stuff works fine in Train Sim.

Screenshot of Assets 6.jpg

And here's inside "Boxcars," itself inside "MaineLines" from the image above. (Note that this is the same folder as shown near the top of this thread but with some unused BAR reefers now deleted.)

This is what you're requesting, yes?
