I downloaded the Trurailsimulations ATSF U6C. The horn and bell don't work. Tried both the space bar for the horn, (B) on the keyboard for the bell as well as inside the cab. No joy.

Readme says I need the DTG Clinchfield U36C and the Searchlight Simulations RS3L_Ex-CR horn which I both have. All files properly installed.

Both the box for engines and the horn are checked off in the editor.

Any ideas?

I had downloaded it a good time ago Buzz. Never tested the darn thing at that time. I looked on the Website today (got to it thru their Facebook link) and the ATSF unit isn't even there. There was a MILW U36C so I downloaded that unit and same thing. Horn and bell doesn't work. All the readme says is I need the Searchlight Simulations horn, and the .GeoPcDx files for the cabview and engine file from the Clinchfield unit which I all have.

I could try to change the unit to a different horn and bell, but I can't make heads or tails out of the bin file as to where to change it all out. I couldn't even find a reference in the Santa Fe bin files for the Searchlight Simulations horn required.

Another option would be to take the bin file for the Clinchfield unit and change the necessary names to match the Santa Fe bin file. (looked at the files in RW tools. A lot of work, but I think I can do it. I'll make sure to back up the bin files for both units before attempting.)

Seems like there's files missing, or the bin files for the SF and MILW units were poorly edited and put together, maybe a combo of both.

The SF unit looks great in the sim. Worst case is to use the unit and don't make it the lead engine.

I got to it with this link which was on a post from their FB page to download the MILW unit. Again, I couldn't find the ATSF unit on this page. https://www.patreon.com/trurailsims/posts


EDIT!! Ignore it Buzz. You'll need to pay a membership fee which I did ($1) when I got the SF unit and some other stuff around 6 month ago, maybe longer. They had to do a membership fee cause people were stealing files.

That's what the guy said. He's charging a $5 membership fee to access to some other engine he says was stolen and illegally distributed.

Anyhow, I got the horn and bell to work!! I changed out the original ATSF bin file with the Clinchfield bin file changing the refences of the Clinchfield unit to the ATSF EXCEPT for the horn and the bell.

I suspect the same can be done for the MILW unit.
