DTG GP40-2 sounds not playing in modded locomotive.

Unread postby Brickrail782 » Tue Sep 28, 2021 10:38 pm

I'm trying to apply the DTG GP40-2 internal engine sounds to the Sherman Hill SD40-2, but the cab sounds are completely quiet, except for the clicking of some levers and switches, and the default engine sounds in the background. I have no clue why they aren't working and would really appreciate some professional help. !*don-know!*

Is that different from amateur help? !*roll-laugh*! What have you done so far that didn't work?

I overwrote the "Class SD40 Cab PROXYXML" with the "GP40PHCab PROXYXML", but nothing happened, then I tried overwriting the "SD40 Cab Sound BIN" with the 'GP40PHCabSound BIN", but again, nothing. As a last resort, I then changed the cab sound file path in the SD40 engine BIN to look at the GP40 cab sounds, but no dice (additionally, I changed the engine sound file path jus to see if those sounds were working. Was completely mute when I tested it, no engine noise).

From what you just said I would first ask if backed up things so you're sure something you did didn't goof up your later efforts. The last thing you did is the way I usually do it. This may be a silly question but you sure that you had the GP40 checked off in the asset list? I do that all the time and then give myself a forehead slap when I realize what I didn't do.

Yes, I've made backups of both the GP40s and the SD40s. I didn't realize that you have to enable the base engine for modded sounds to work, I'll give that a shot real quick.

Just tried enabling the GP40-2s in a test scenario, still no engine sound, just cab controls.
