I have a steam loco that runs out of coal at about 10 miles. Is there a way to fix this problem so I can extend the journey?

In the locomotive BIN Files, check Basic Coal Usage Rate.
Too high value will cause the coal to exhaust very soon.

I am asking this question on behalf of a friend who is trying to develop a locomotive. I hesitate to comment on the project without permission. I am sure when his project is done you will know about it.
