Default F7 Couplers:

Unread postby qrfan3 » Sun May 01, 2011 8:02 pm

During some beta testing of a repaint of the default F7 I have come across an issue with the F7 front and rear couplers. If the F7 is used as a stand alone unit without the B it will not rear couple to any rolling stock...ie, hoppers, box cars...etc, even the default ACF chaircar. The front coupler of the F7 will couple at all, even with a B unit hitched up. I presume this is an issue from the default release that has never been looked at or fixed and was wondering if a 3rd party fix was ever released if this was the case. I have tried to modify the BIN file with no results and am at a loss as to why?
I have done all the delete pak, etc and verify's and searched forums.....has anybody else come across this issue?.

Thanks in advance.

Just tried it with the SP one, works fine. Try a range of different stock, it might be the stock.

Hmmmm!!!....Interesting you mention the SP as a test. I have tried it as well as a stand alone unit and no luck. Problem is...the rolling stock I mentioned is also painted in the road colors of the F7 so that causes an issue for releasing. I have a clean new install of Railworks2 and tried the default SP F7......it will not even couple to it's own chaircar, let alone the stock I tried.
For a matter of interest....which piece of rolling stock did you test so I can verify that the problem may be my end only and I do have an issue to try and sort out.

Thanks!

It was one of the double stack cars, possibly the g-trax ones, just happened to jump out of the stock list at me. I can try it with a bunch of other stuff if you want.

I tried the G-TraX ones, the default double stackers.....no go. It does couple to the default centerbeam cars.... !*YAAA*!
So far...no go with default 2bay closed hoppers, default wide vision caboose, default chaircars, refridge van.... !*hp*!
3DTrains payware F7 works a treat ..... !!*ok*!! as does Dick Cowens E7..... !!*ok*!!

I am at a loss..... !*don-know!* ..will have to dig deeper.

Thanks for your help.
!*cheers*!
