Lumber Loading Dock

Unread postby maddog1951 » Wed May 08, 2019 11:03 am

Sorry to reopen an old subject. But I'm new to RW and still trying to figure out how to use RWtools.
I had the lumber Dock working at one time, but reloaded steam and now my lumber load doesn't load. !*hp*!
As said it unloads the lumber but doesn't load. I tried to look into RWtools but I'm ignorant on how to use it. Any Help would be appreciated.
Thank You.

Have you run a cache verify to make sure everything is there?

I'm reading it all the time. I've learn some things but not enough

Buzz456 Before you had asked me to start a new Post.
I was looking through the (adv. search) to see if this was addressed before. I see that it was but unfortunately the pics were not available.
I have no clue where it went wrong. I have downloaded other Loading Docks but their loads are the wrong ones or to big for my 40ft. flatcars.
If anyone has a working Lumber dock please forward file Email rbjimbo2 at aol dot com
I thank you

If no one has solved your problem yet by e-mail please let the forum know what flat cars are you trying to load and one of us will see if we can find a loader that works for you. Also is this on a specific route that someone could check or are you creating something?

My Flatcars that I'm using are repaints of Michael Stephan's 40 ft flats found at Golden Age of Railroading site

In assets under : GreatNorthern\Allegheny\'\'\Flatcar 40ft old\ default\wagon\flatcar_40_hvy_timber

The route is Bumbleberry Creek Logging Co. by B-24_LIBERATOR

As you see below I can Unload lumber but it doesn't load..

Thank You

Does anyone have a clue on this? All texture files seem to be there. Is something not addressing the files correctly?

I don't have the route, so I can't check it myself. I am also unfamiliar with the specific asset of the loading dock.

My suggestion though, would be to load the route in the world editor, then fly to the location of the dock and check the exact placement of the link, or links from the dock to the track. At the same time you could double click on the asset to bring up the flyout, and find the provider of the asset so that we can stand a better chance of helping diagnose this issue.

Taking a look on the asset is a good idea.
I have started to create my own dummy transfer point some days ago so I know there is a value in the blueprint of the transfer point called "TransferDirection".
This value controls what your transfer point can do: load, unload and both. Unfortunately this isn't mentioned in the dev docs.
To make loading and unloading possible the value has to be set as follows:

Code: Select all
<TransferDirection d:type="cDeltaString">TransferBoth</TransferDirection>

To check this, you have to serz the bin file first or edit it with rw tools.

The route I'm using does not matter, the loading dock is in Assets/Developer/ addon/.
This is the readme file:

CrateDock is a minor revision of BlankDock created by Richard Ham available on the RS Scenery library
as frghtdk2.zip. The package contains twoo modified loading docks, one for loading crates
and the other for loading lumber. It also contains the loads originally developed by Michael Stephan and
have been "tuned" to operate with his flatcar set.

To further modify for other loads please download the source files cited above.

Install - open the install folder and run Asset_Setup.exe. If your copy of Railworks is not
in the default location, browse to your location using the "..." button. Click install button
and wait for completion message.

To use in your own route you must select "Developer" "Addon" in the Asset Selector Tool.

The crate textures are from Michael Stephan (Great Northerner). The fork lift driver figure is
modified from a 3D Canvas model from Bazzi (3D Canvas Forums).

Please email me with your problems and comments.

If you ever need to load logs, there's also Richard Ham's logging camp crane.

Which will load and unload (and if you hit the button in error) even with the same car!
