Route marker issues

Unread postby darkwarriorz » Thu Apr 21, 2011 9:43 pm

I was creating paths using google earth and converted .dcsv by using RW tools, and when I went to the new route I created the route marker I just converted didnt show up. Any ideas why it didnt show up? I follow all instruction from Mike Simpson route marker creating tutorial.

Thanks,
darkwarriorz

I have no experience with pathes, but it might be the same as with the normal markers.

Try this: restart, clear cache, then go into you route

In the left flyout in the editor in the third box there is an option which depicts a compas.
Select it. Now the path should show up. If not unchecked and check this option another time.

If nothing helps you might delete the dcsv and then retry the conversion with RWTools. !*salute*!

Yes, the route marker files are in the same location as the route in. Except route marker are place in the route marker but they are in the same directory as the route are. Any idea what I might did wrong in google earth? Or I place the file in the wrong location?

What I mean is, is your route in RailWorks set up in the right location?

For me, the route markers from a path just showed up as a thin black line on the terrain. It was difficult to see them.

Try to jump to the marker.
1. In the Top Compass flyout, click the globe icon. This will bring up the right hand flyout.
2. Find and click on one of your markers in the right flyout.
3. Click the arrow head icon just above the lat/lon in the top flyout and you should jump to the location of the marker.

Again, you won't see the line unless markers are turned on in the lower left flyout.

Thanks,
Don

Try to set up your own Asset folder.
Look into the other asset folders what folders should be in there.
Then convert your markers again with RWTools and give the appropriate folder in your own asset folder to save them there.

You can now enable your asset folder in thee right flyout in the editor and the markers should be present.

Hi! I'm having the same problem, and I've read that the blueprint editor is not working properly since the last update. One of the steps with making route markers is to create a blueprint. Could this be the reason for the problems?

No, and the BE is not working for certain people. Don't forget that you have to load RW twice to see the markers if you've done them correctly.

The question is does the route marker have to be in the same directory when you create the route template in order for the route marker & route drawing to show up in template? Because I have both template and route marker in the same directory.

!**conf**!

First go into the Railworks main menu. Then set up a new route using your template.
Load this route. Close RW.

Then create an Asset folder like I explained it in my earlier post.
There you can create your markers/ paths into with RWTools. Follow the instructions in the RWTools manual/ help guide.

Markers are normally set up as an Asset.

No, but it creates order in your folders if you do.
