Missing window textures in cab view - Eyein12 C40-8 CN

Unread postby bekns » Wed Jan 23, 2019 10:56 pm

Hello All

I am missing window textures from within the cab view of the Eyein12 C40-8 pack (the CN one). I have not used this pack in awhile so can not say when this has happened but dont recall ever having this issue before. I have checked the cab geo and it references a texture in the CSX folder that is called windows1 but I am unable to find that texturein the CSX folder or anywhere in the files. I have checked both my previously downloaded copy and a newly downloaded copy and neither have a texture in them called windows1 (that I can find anyway).

Maybe I am looking at the wrong thing here but I would assume if it was trying to find a texture that is not there it would cause the 'missing textures' issue that I am seeing. If anyone who has this loco wouldnt mind having a quick check for me just to see if it is something specific to my setup that would be really helpful.

This is the pack I am referring to

Hello, theres a folder in your download zip file that you need to drag and drop into your railworks folder. just make sure the folder goes where it belongs. Look at the folder structure in the zip. Also make sure download any updates as well.

Hi Ian

Thanks for replying, I thought I would just see if anyone else was having trouble with this first before bothering you directly but I appreciate you responding here.

I think I have this figured now, as I first suspected (and is usually the case ) it was something I was doing or in this instance not doing. When reinstalling the dash8C pack I only installed what I thought was the latest version which was version 3.0 according to the files I had saved from originally downloading so this is what I installed. Upon your advice that there was another folder I should be looking for I found it after re-downloading both the C40-8CN pack and the dash8C pack. It was in the file that came down from the link for the dash8C pack v3.0F which gave me a file called dash8_v2-1f (the texture fix is in with this file) which is the file I had in my downloaded copies but as the other file I had with it was dash8_pack v3final (this file is actually behind the link labelled v3.1f) I had assumed this was the most updated copy.

This was all fairly obvious now that I was looking at your site but not so obvious from just looking at the files I had saved previously not to mention I was more focused on finding the solution with the C40-8CN pack rather than looking for it within the dash8C pack even though I now see that the fix applies to both packs. Anyways problem is now solved and thank you for prompting me in the right direction.

Regards
Bekns
