It has been a long time since I have placed any mileposts/markers on my route. But no matter what I do I can bot place them. Any other sign or signal object works fine. I even looked at an old Railsimulator tutorial to see if I was missing a step. This is just weird.

Which specific milepost asset(s) are you trying to place?

None of the default posts will place. Nor the COA milepost. I go to place it. It doesn't mater if I right click left click,double click,or do a triple axle,it does not place. And it is not below the surface.

Let me suggest one thing for you to check. My apologies if you have already considered this but it has always been the culprit for me whenever an object that requires a track link will not place.

When in the editor you have three panels on the left hand side that can be pinned out; From top to bottom they are the Tool Box panel, Browser Panel and lastly, Options panel. In the Options panel there is a radio button for Auto-Rotate, make sure that is unchecked. If it is checked then you will see the asset that requires a track link on-screen at your mouse position when you select it but as soon as you click the left mouse button to set the position it will instantly give you another copy and the first instance of the asset will disappear without letting you drag the track link onto the track.

This has happened several times to me and I would put money down on my not having checked the radio button by mistake. My suspicion is that there is an undocumented keystroke combo that enables Auto-rotate (and I occasionally hit it by mistake)- or, it very well could be documented somewhere and I am unaware of it.

In any case, check to make sure that the Auto-Rotate button is unchecked. If it is unchecked and you have no problem placing a signal then a problem with just the milepost markers is something I have never encountered before.

I know that you said that any other sign or signal object works fine, I'm just wondering if you have tried placing a mile post unsuccessfully, then a signal just fine followed by another unsuccessful mile post attempt. If that sequence works - fail/good/fail then it must be something other than Auto-Rotate being enabled.
