Searchlight Simulations for Dash 9s

Unread postby BessemerBoy » Thu Feb 08, 2018 1:31 am

I was just wondering, I read tutorial on here earlier about how to get repaints to work with the Searchlight Simulations soundpacks, and it was quite helpful by using the Gevo soundpack as an example on how to make the repaint compatible. I tried this with the SD70MAC soundpack and it worked okay with the repaints except for the default number texture over the repainted texture but Im okay with that. What Ive been having trouble with is the Dash 9 sound pack and getting this method to work with them. I tried the same method as before but in game the engine has no sound and cannot be controlled whatsoever. I was just wondering if I am doing something wrong, or if there is an extra step or two that I am overlooking. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Are all necessary items enabled in the route editor?

Other than enabling RSC Dash9Pack01 and MLWAudio GE-FDL16, it could be any bad path related with the new repaint (not the SS pack).
Audio is pointing to the RSC Dash9Pack01 Audio folder thru children. There you get the sound drivers pointing to MLWAudio files. Enabling should be enough for the sound pack to work.
A lack of controlling could be something related with a cabview path.
I would suggest you concentrate in the first line of this post (path with new loco folder).

P.S.
The right way to do this conversions is first copy the engine bin from Searchlight Simulations and then filling in the names, Geo´s textures and changing all paths with the new loco repaint. If you, by the contrary try to replace the paths (convert to MLWAUdio) in the new loco bin, you may easily fall into one or more bugs in the code.
