Game Crashing

So for a while now anytime I create a scenario and add a consist or more than 4 engines the game comes up with an error message. Same thing happens when editing a route I get either a ntdll.dll, gamemanagerVC.dll or Kernel.dll error. I have tried researching a fix or cause you name it, but no helpful resolution. That is why I am posting for some help with this issue. I have reinstalled Train Simulator but I still get this problem.

Run Logmate and see what is causing the crash.

From what I've read about the dll files you posted, the program using them has crashed them. Obviously that's what happened. lol. So it says two easy ways and many harder ways to correct these. Easiest way is to clear the game cache and reboot the PC. Sometimes these Dll files get loaded only once so if it corrupts it wont correct until reloaded with a reboot. Other fix would be a reinstall of the program associated with those files. Do a windows search for those files on your hard drive(s). If it's Direct X related reinstall direct X if its in the Railworks Steam folders then write back on here and someone or I can walk you through how to renew your Railworks install without ruining your assets and routes.

Thanks for you're input JohnS and Buzz, I haven't run logmate yet, which I still plan on doing, however I did want to throw out some more detailed info, So what I have done so far to see what the event viewer has captured and this is the results.

So each one of these, I don't get the error all at once, what happens is I will get an error dmp message, then it will say railworks.exe has stopped etc.. So then once it crashes, I go to event viewer and one of these will appear, most of the time its the ntdll.dll error. Which I have yet to find out which module this is, but I am researching. What is new to me, is the other two GameManagerVC.dll and MSVCR100.dll. So not sure what exactly is going on and what is needed to be done to correct this, just hoping this can be fixed.

Was the Windows 10 an upgrade or a fresh install?
Was railworks already installed if it was an upgrade to 10?

I've had a similar problem with the program crashing when working on a route, adding track. The game freezes and cannot restart. Press enter and restart the sim and try to load the route. Will not load! Get a dump file that I cannot read.

I have had Windows 10 for 2 years on a fresh install, and updates as they come.
And Railworks has been installed for a while now, and I just did a fresh re-install of the game yesterday.

Yeah same here, but not only adding track, its any assets or editing. Sometimes I can get by for 5-10 mins and every now and then longer, but lately it gives the dmp error then crashes a lot sooner. This also happens to other routes too so I can confirm its not one particular route or scenario.

Make sure the routes and assets you are working on are set to read/write. Meaning all the files and subfolders for each route and assets being used. RWtools has a tool to make everything in the Railworks read/write. It's possible something was changed. By using that utility it will insure everything is read/write capable. I know it sounds weird but I've seen and did this and it corrected many problems.

Thanks JohnS, I'll make sure that the files are R&W.

I didn't see the option to make read/write via rwtools, but I made each assets etc.. to read/write, and so far I haven't had a crash yet so hopefully this may be resolved?! Thanks for your help.

Okay so The game crashed today, I did run Logmate and then restarted the game showed a bunch of errors, but one thing I wanted to clear, PONTrack.bin is that needed or does it need to be deleted?

It massively needs to be deleted. That's probably your whole problem.

Alright, Well that was found in one of the asset folders in Railworks. and I'm not sure if that was selected in the route or not, but i'll keep ya posted.
