Crash on Startup

I know this has been discussed before, but I've seen several variations of it and not all of them had informative explanations.

The other day I finished work on my route and saved it, all goes well, except my PC locked up and crashed as I closed the game. The next day I tried to start up Train Simulator, all I got was a black screen, I had an issue previously where it would get locked up at this point, but changing to the desktop and back to TS would fix it. This time, however, it had crashed and saved a dump file, I thought it was a fluke, so I closed it and started it up again, I got the same result. It's been three days now and I've had almost no luck at all, I've run LogMate and all I get is the normal missing blueprint notice for "EditCamera001.bin". I heard that some people had an issue with the Durango & Silverton route causing the crashes, I've removed it but to no avail. I tried the same thing with my route as I know it's had some Tracks.bin issues, that didn't solve it either. I've verified the cache multiple times, which also doesn't help, and I've tried changing the config files for the graphics as I've heard that can cause this issue, neither have done the trick.

Does anyone here know what could be causing this and how one might fix it? The last thing I really want to do is to download a fresh copy of Train Simulator and start moving all of my backed up content to the new version. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's had this issue recently. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Are you on win10? There have been lots of problems between the Fall update and Nvidia. If you are on win10 I can send you some links to possible solutions.

Yes, I'm on Windows 10, so that could certainly be it, I was completely unaware that there has been a new update. Thank you!

I've got good news, I managed to get Train Sim up and running by installing a fresh copy, fortunately, I backed up all of my content so everything survived.

Still, I'm very curious about what caused the issue, as if it was indeed the Windows update I'd assume it wouldn't work after reinstalling the game.
