DD35 Demonstrator Front MU cables diappering

why does the DD35 demo Front MU cables disappear when you only get up close rather then fair away? they appear full in both fair away and close when you look only straight on at them. why does DD35 Demo have this issue and the repaint in SP paint doesn't?

That would have something to do with the LOD's used in the modeling of the hoses.
