I have no idea what happen with this loading screen after click " Play " then the loading screen come on the screen. But had a problem with this. All I have is the top left all the way to half of the screen and down to the bottom where all the boxes with " Drive ", " Profile "; " Build "; " Academy " and " Store " All you see is the whole half show white with the word " This photo is no longer available " and the top right corner with the word " Flickr ". Now my question is that How can I get this photo back on the loading screen and show the whole picture of the loading screen of Train Simulator 2016?

Your help would be appreciated!

Thank you,

John

I had the same problem last November and started a thread that led to a fix. Rather than refer you to that thread, I'll just summarize the fix:

1) Look in your Railworks/data/textures/frontend folder: the startup screens are stored in there. (advice from trev123)

2) In that folder, I found 2 files that struck me as possible problems. One, background.jpg, is the image that currently appears in front of the menu background (including the words "This photo is no longer available"), while the second seems to be a previous version of the same image, named background.jpg.MD5. After moving those two files to the desktop, I started TS2016 and -- lo and behold -- that fixed the problem.

Hope that this works for you, as well. By the way, that image showed up on my start screen again a couple of weeks ago, but the next time I started TS2016, like the proverbial little man upon the stair, it wasn't there. I just looked again and files named both background.jpg and background.jpg.MD5 are there, so they must get regenerated after removal.

!!howdy!!

Thanks for this, Tom. I was experiencing the same thing and I knew that SOMEONE had found a solution, but couldn't find it. Glad you re-posted the fix. Easily done.
Best,
Marc

Let's all file this fix away somewhere handy for future reference. Is there a "Fixes that work" department here at RWA?

Yes, when I can I gather these troubleshooting tips and write an article in the RWA learning center.
When I don't forget !!jabber!!

Just a precision:
OldProf wrote:background.jpg, is the image that currently appears ... while the second seems to be a previous version of the same image, named background.jpg.MD5

Actually, the MD5 file should be a cryptographic hash of the image file. It could be (but is currently not) used for verifying the integrity of the first file.
