Brake Pressure Anomaly

Unread postby MontanaRails » Mon Jan 18, 2016 8:12 pm

Hello,

I'm working on updating the old DTM FA-1 and GP30 units to current standards, and have done most of the sound and texture work, and now I'm working on some basic physics updates, and noticed this is what the brake needles look like...

Without consist they look right:

With any other loco, or cars, the equalizing reservoir is messed up:

Any ideas?

Don't take this the wrong way, but i'm glad to see i'm not the only one with this problem. The F5 Hud view shows ths correct pressure, while needle is either zero or pegged out when the locomotive is coupled. If this is a widespread problem, their is either something we aren't doing right to connect the EQ needle, or it's game core bug. Lets keep this one open.

Core game bug. It's broken on every single engine I have that's US based and doesn't use virtual brake displays.

Hmm. Wonder if adding a Virtual Eq Res control will fix the situation? That worked for Sander being disconnected from the HUD controls.

Thanks everyone - I guess I was just wondering if there was a fix. I've noticed it before - the GP30 isnt the only one afflicted. But some locos with the advanced brakes (like the D&RGW SD40T-2) dont seem to be as bad off. The air needles behave for the most part. Maybe that's the key - conventional non-scripted brakes are broken globally.

Oh well...! Thanks again! !!*ok*!!

The bug started after PSL was released because when I sent them everything back with the brakes properly setup, after it released everything was broken for every engine.

Until this core bug is fixed,if at all, you can assign the EQ Pressure control variable to the Brake Pipe Pressure control variable.
I doubt proper EQ reservoir behaviour is coded in the core gamemanager.dll, so it won't matter in non-scripted engines.

PSL is? I thought Canadian Mountain Passes was the first DLC with 'advanded braking'?

Only the heavily scripted Smokebox version is more or less OK, but that script won't be released for general application.

PSL release is when it broke. I remember this because it worked fine prior to the route releasing.
