Hello everyone,

Just a question........ Does anyone no how to turn off, or change the color of the marker lights on the PRR K-4? They currently display red, and I was curious if they changed color or extinguish the Smokebox Consolidation. I see nothing in the manual. Thanks!

Hmm.I'm not sure.Have you tried turning off the lights completely? And do you mean you want them permanently disabled?

The lights are "slaved" to the headlight, and no, I do not want to disable the headlight. I wish to turn off/change color of the marker (class) lights,

The InputMappers have 4 state controls, 2 H and 2 Shift-H. Two of the states are repeated (all lights on).
The red lights (markers) stay On with the headlight Off in one of the states. This would mean they are not slaved to the main headlight. But there is no control for the contrary (turn off the markers leaving the headlight on).
I have not looked at the bins but I believe it could be modded either to change one of those states or to create a new one. I don“t think they are scripted but in the K4 the scripting is not compiled, so it can be modified.

My question however is if those markers were left On at night time, or they were used just to maneuver backwards.

I believe also that the lighting cone of the headlight is also too long
!!howdy!!

Jalsina,

Thank you for the reply. The markers indicate sections of a train, ie; "1st, 2nd, or final section of train number 27", when trains were too long to be hauled in one consist. Green meant "section of same train to follow", and red meant final section. This way, when a dispatch wrote a meet order, such as train 1 meet train 27, the trains would know if there was a second or 3rd section of the train that they were meeting, and would not depart, until all sections of the opposing train had passed. Of course, this was on some railroads. White meant extra, or unscheduled movement. No marker lights meant scheduled movement, with no extra sections to follow. This was common in block territory, and during daylight, flags replaced the markers.

On the "Connie", shift U and U script the lights to these colors.

My guess just looking at it, you can not change the marker lights. I don't see a separate color coded or a way to turn on and off coded. Looks to be tied to headlights. There is a lot of things present that were never finished coded. Cab light is one that comes to mind. !*not-ok*!

I watched a couple videos of a surviving K4 and the marker lights when turned off look dark. That would suggest they are probably red when turned on.
In my opinion the control state that is missing in the TS K4 is the markers turned off with the headlight is turned on. I believe this could be easily modded in the engine bin.

Just an additional note, the TS Berkshire has markers which are white.
