Sherman Hill - Cheyenne - Buffer Stop on tracks

Unread postby ChrisOnline » Wed Dec 30, 2015 2:32 pm

Elphaba's new article in Engine Driver about the UP SW10 (which comes with Sherman Hill) is excellent reading. A loco that had largely gone over my head!
If you are interested, it is at: http://www.engine-driver.com/article/sh ... fic-s-sw10

So it prompted me to run a Sherman Hill scenario called Welcome to Cheyenne, and there I came across a buffer stop incorrectly placed at the beginning of a spur named "Cheyenne - Old 9". It is a "virtual" image, and vehicles can pass through it without harm! But irritating nevertheless.

I tried (on a full copy of the route to be safe!) to eliminate it, but was unsuccessful. Can someone explain how to remove it, without otherwise affecting the layout and/or markers?

It might be a piece of track buried under the real track. A left over from building the route.
Try going under neath the ground level and looking up, while moving the cursor around. See if you can find a "bit" of unused track under the section in question.
If you delete the wrong section just hit the back button before you do anything else. *!greengrin!*

I think you may refer to this. That was in the cement plant near Laramie:

Eric, thanks but no, it is part of the main track.

Jalsina - thank you! It is not the same piece of track, this is "Cheyenne - Old 9" close to the roundhouse at Cheyenne, but apparently the same problem and solution! It works, and leaves the Route Marker intact!

For ease of reference for anyone else reading this thread, I copy below Jalsina's previous response:

To move the Stop buffer to the end of the track:
Select the track behind the buffer.
Move the selected track to somewhere near.
Click Undo.
The buffer should be now positioned at the end of the track.

Thanks again!
