FL9 Headlight

Just purchased this loco. Pic # 1 shows it with the light on. Pic # 2 with it off. Looks pretty anemic to me. What do you think?

I think you need to try a re-install.

Here is a YouTube video of the FL9 by another source. The headlight brightness (almost none) is the same as what I am seeing. Could someone who has this loco chime in and let me know if they have the same situation?

Is it possible to do a selective file verify cache instead of the whole simulation?

Chris, the Headlights have three settings on the panel switch inside the cab (on the left) . . . Dim, Med and Brt. And if you use the H key instead (or the Light key on the F4 HUD), each press cycles through them. The brightest isn't exactly dazzling, but I think you may be using the dim one? I'm not sure the light is on at all in the video

Here it is on mine, with the light on the bright Setting

Yes, go to the Library screen in Steam, highlight Train Simulator, and to the right is a full list of all your DLCs. UN-check the box for the DLC that you want to re-install. "Train Simulator" will change to "Train Simulator - update queued" briefly, then revert to "Train Simulator". Now RE-check the DLC box; "Train Simulator" will change to "Train Simulator - ready to play" while it is downloading, then when it is complete it will revert to "Train Simulator" again. Your DLC is now re-installed/verified. No other DLCs will be affected (unless you also unchecked those boxes!)

(But I don't think re-installing is your issue here, it's interpretation, LOL!)

In case anyone else is wondering, I think I have worked it out. I am assuming that Chris (miata54) has Headlight Flare turned OFF. I tried that setting and had the same problem with no headlights on the FL9. Turning Headlight Flare back on gives me good headlights on the FL9. I wonder if this may affect headlights on other locos, though I haven't come across it before.

The setting is in Settings > Graphics > Advanced > Next > [check Headlight Flares]

Thanks Chris for the solution. Indeed it was the Headlight Flare setting.
