Nothing is Loading

Unread postby FoodMonsterGuy » Sun Dec 13, 2015 2:31 pm

This afternoon for almost an hour now I am unable to load anything in the game. The game loads up but when I try loading a route or scenario I just get a blank dark screen. I wait a few minutes but nothing happens except background noise from the game. !**conf**! Also when I minimize I cannot pull it up and close it at all! I last played last night and it ran perfectly normal. Any help would be greatyl appreciated! *!!thnx!!*

Try waiting a bit longer. I loaded a new route yesterday that I had just purchased and got the black screen with sounds when trying to load a scenario. I pressed the window key to minimise to see if I had a DMP error but none so returned to full screen and waited a bit longer and the scenario loading screen appeared and loaded the scenario.

I second what Trev suggested. The simple fact that the loading screen appears, or even the main menu screen for that matter, does not really mean that TS is ready for use. Among other things, workshop subscriptions take a long time to load -- and reload -- and reload -- etc. Just one of those reloads can, I'm pretty sure, send a scenario to its knees. It seems that DTG/RSC is packing more and more unnecessary and in most cases undesired "junk downloads" into the start and running processes. This includes promotions for new and not yet available DLC and the aforementioned repetitive and redundant workshop downloads. I expect that any day now a LUA generated box will pop up as I'm running a scenario to advertise Fishing or Flying or Flying Fish simulators they also happen to make. Yes, of course, I know that they're in business to make a profit, but they have plenty of ways to do that outside the simulator itself.

!*hp*!
