These screenshots are from the Penn Coal route.

Any idea what happened here? !*don-know!*

If that is the only route that you lost the scenery I suggest you uninstall that route and let Steam re-aquire it and see if that fixes things. Check to see if everything is OK on another route.

Actually, this is my backup drive. In the past, I'd either copy and paste, or use MS Sync Toy to add new additions or changes to the backup drive. I never had an issue before. !*don-know!*

I don't know if this matters, but Penn Coal is a route I acquired as part of TS 2016 Steam Edition during the sale last week. I'd previously had TS 2016 via free update.

Let me know if you need any other info.

Is the route OK on your primary drive?

Yes, everything good on the primary drive.

What's interesting is I'm only having issues on the backup drive, and only with routes/assets acquired with Steam Edition TS 2016.

This means Penn Coal, Riviera in the 50s', UP Turbine etc. are what's broken.

One other piece of information. The backup drive TS has always been played "offline." However, the computer is still connected to the Internet, and apparently Steam updates are downloaded and installed, even if the game is played "offline."

In all my years of operating RailWorks, I've never seen anything like this. With such depleted assets, it should not have even started up. !*don-know!*

that happened to me on Solider Summit. I uninstalled the route and reinstalled it and it worked after I tried deleting it from in game on the route list. When I lost the track on my Pacific Surfliner route I deleted it from in game and then restarted the game and it fixed it. I tried doing the same with Solider Summit and it didn't work but when I deleted it on steam and reinstalled it worked and have had no issues since.

This is usually the best way to fix problems like this.

I solved the problem. I had no choice but to run the backup version online. My guess here is the alternate drive, even on the same computer, has to be magically validated, given my purchase of TS 2016 Steam edition. No a major pita, but still another TS issue. !*not-ok*!

Of course, once you do that the "old school" start screens are gone, and we get screens with tiny little letters. I thought this was easy to fix, - not. At that point, I deleted the data folder from the backup drive, and copy and pasted the data folder from the primary drive. It works! !*YAAA*!

I did notice something I hadn't seen before. When I went online, there were two choices regarding syncing of the drives, which I presume this aren't new. The bottom line is we're all on the "cloud" like it or not. !!spank!!

I have no idea what you are talking about but it's nice to know that it's fixed. Trust me this is not a TS issue it is something to do with your installation.

It once did it to me when resuming on Sherman Hill. Reload scenario if that is no help then reboot game. One of those worked for me.
