Horn & Bells Sounds Issues Please Help

Unread postby BNSF509 » Sun Aug 02, 2015 5:07 pm

Hi all,
I'm changing the horns and bells on the SD70ACes. I put them in the correct folders and I edit the proxyxml file and run it through the serz program to make into a proxybin file. I'm trying to get them to work on the NS Heritage SD70s. I even deleted the blueprint.pak, and yet I hear nothing from the horn and bell when I go to run the ACes. Any solutions to this issue?

Can you provide the exact code of the XML and the location of the files? Computers don't make errors, they only execute them. *!!wink!!*

Modifying the ProxyXML will allow the sounds to work, I just change the lines in the original ProxyXML and the modified sounds will work fine.

Yes, he says he's done that, but it doesn't seem like he did it correctly. That's why he should provide his code and the location of the files.

Here's the sound part of the code. I renamed the bell and horn files to what it says in the folder it self, like K5LLA.dav, I changed the horn sounds and made those file sounds K5LLA.wav. Which is what I have in the code.
Code: Select all

Hmm... maybe try converting the .WAV files to .DAV files.
Download this tool:
http://rail-sim.de/railsimnew/index.php/downloadscat/finish/36-editoren-tools/1847-dav-audio-decoder/0

Download, extract, and run. Since you are reverse-converting, do this:

First box:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\SD70Pack01\Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD70ACe\T_SD70_Bell.wav
Second box:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\SD70Pack01\Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD70ACe\T_SD70_Bell.dav

Do the same for the horn files, edit the XML to use the DAV files, run through serz, and see if that works.
