Defect Detectors?

Unread postby tplowman91 » Wed Jun 24, 2015 2:33 pm

RWA Community,

Does anyone know how to get the defect detectors in Stevens Pass to work. I see them work in some scenarios, however, if I make my own scenario or use a custom scenario, they do not work. When I browse to the location of the Detectors in route editor or scenario editor, there are markers where the detectors are, but when I click on them I get nothing. I also don't see a sound source to place them into the scenario. However, I did see the audio folder of the route and where the .dav audio files for the audible detectors are at. Does any one know anything about this?

Thanks

Wait Stevens Pass has working Defect Detectors? I never knew that Railworks could even have Defect Detectors working? Why aren't all the routes like that?

Yes, which brings up a point.
The detector audio is actually in the folder for the cab sounds, so when you use a non Donner Pass engine, there is no audio from the detector when the train passes.

Is it in the Radio.Dav File? Because I looked in the Dash 9 Folder and never saw anything file that had Detector in it. Maybe i'm missing something but if you can tell me I would really appreciate that.

I thought the defect detector sounds were in the cab audio folder but I can't find it. Maybe it is a scenery audio item and it's somehow scripted to the Donner Pass engines.

I found it. It is in the Audio Folder in the Rail Network Folder and it is in a Folder called HWDetector I think and there are two dav files with Detector Recordings.

That rings a bell.
I must have stumbled across it when I was looking into modifying Donner Pass. That also means the detector sounds must be scripted or something similar to the particular engines.
