Strange Writing on Fuel Tank - Black ES-44 AC

Unread postby FHRob » Fri May 22, 2015 2:21 pm

Just when I thought TS couldn't surprise me, I noticed the letters "SF" on the left side fuel tank. !*don-know!*

Anybody else have this, and could this be a secret message, sort of like playing a Beatles record backwards? !*roll-laugh*!

That's interesting... !!det!!

Two things come to mind.
Was this engine developed by someone when it was Kuju, and was Kuju in the Bay Area, cus that looks kinda like an old San Francisco sports logo.

The other thing that comes to mind is Santa Fe during the Kodachrome Holocaust.

Hmmmmmm. !**duh*!!

Has anyone looked at the other side yet?

This was originally a free extra for those who bought Rail Simulator at Best Buy. It was a download from EA maybe? In fact, I have the sticker from the original packaging touting this freebie.

To me, it looks like the Santa Fe Kodachrome font.

There is also a texture diffenece at the top which mimics the UP paint scheme. Don't know if they meant to do that it just a mark from repainting the union pacific paint scheme.

Nice catch! !!*ok*!! I didn't notice that, but it actually looks good, the two-tone black.

My guess is a mark from repainting the UP paint scheme.

To me that looks like the 'SF' from 'BNSF' in their current 'heritage 3' paint scheme. The font is identical, and there even appears to be the underline of the 'swoosh' underneath the letters

Ahhhhh Yes.
Maybe someone was holding a grudge against BNSF over licensing rights? *!greengrin!*
I wonder if there is a secret BN somewhere?

Later that night... !*roll-laugh*!

And here it is.
