Inside and Outside Sound The Same - Can This Be Fixed?

Unread postby FHRob » Sat May 09, 2015 3:49 pm

The sound level inside the CN SD-70 cab is the same as the sound outside. !*don-know!*

How do I adjust the cab sound so it's lower, i.e. muffled?

Thanks,

Rob :D

I'd suspect a cab occlusion problem.
Compare this engine's blueprint's cab occlusion node to one that worls correctly.

I checked the SD70 Cab Occlusion.bin file against another that works correctly, and it appears to be the same.

This is what the file shows:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<cBlueprintLoader xmlns:d="http://www.kuju.com/TnT/2003/Delta" d:version="1.0">
<Blueprint>
<cCabOcclusionBlueprint>
<Occlusion d:type="sInt32">-2400</Occlusion>
<OcclusionLFratio d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="00000040E17A843F" d:precision="string">0.01</OcclusionLFratio>
<OcclusionRoomRatio d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="000000000000E03F" d:precision="string">0.5</OcclusionRoomRatio>
<OcclusionDirectRatio d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="000000000000F03F" d:precision="string">1</OcclusionDirectRatio>
</cCabOcclusionBlueprint>
</Blueprint>
</cBlueprintLoader>

Any other avenues to pursue?

Yes. I wasn't talking about the cab occlusion blueprint, but about the occlusion node in the engine blueprint, which may or may not refer properly to the cab occlusion blueprint.

Here's what I found in the RSC\SD70Pack02\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD70\Default\Engine\SD70ACe_bnsf.bin:

<BlueprintSetID>
<iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID>
<Provider d:type="cDeltaString">RSC</Provider>
<Product d:type="cDeltaString">SD70Pack02</Product>
</iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID>
</BlueprintSetID>
<BlueprintID d:type="cDeltaString">Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD70ACe\Cab\SD70 Cab Occlusion.xml</BlueprintID>
</iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID>
</CabOcclusion>

Let me know if you need any other information.

The CN engine has exactly the same reference, so that doesn't seem to be the problem.
Try the usual: restart the game, verify local files, etc.

The problem here is the sound level inside the cab equals the sound level outside, both loud.
