The ghost of TS2014?

Well, with this sim the wonders never cease.

A few minutes ago, I double-clicked the TS2015 icon. After a decent interval, the first TS2015 splash screen appeared, declaring this version 50.5 and all the other usual hooey. Then the 2nd TS2015 splash screen -- no, wait -- what? -- it was the TS 2014 splash screen. Shiver me timbers, I thought: a time warp. Undeterred, I meandered through the menus, eventually selecting the VNHRR scenario I'd begun creating this morning and clicking Start. All seemed well for the usual boring wait, with Fraps merrily hopping up and down . . . until it stopped dead. Well, nothing really unusual . . . but as time passed, I grew suspicious and pressed the Windows Start key, to find an "Unable to create dump file" message on the screen. Crikey!?!

Don't tell me what to do, I know from way too much experience (approaching 8000 hours -- too bad nothing keeps track of the number of crashes endured) that the time had come, for the nth time, to give tongue to the well-worn command: "Verify the Cache, Scotty!"

So all I want to know is whether I'm just privileged or whether others have experienced this particular oddity as well. !*hp*!

If you haven't wiped them out there is a crash log report made for every time the game crashes. It is right there in the steam folder if you care to go count them. Since they appear to serve no purpose I periodically go in and delete them.

If you're referring to the .dmp files, I've yet to find any way to read them (and recall that somewhere or other RSC admitted to not being able to do so, either). If it's something else and somewhere else, I can't find them.

You can count them however and your question perhaps rhetorical was how many times the game had crashed not what was in the report.

I have not experienced this problem in some time however in a previous iteration when I was having trouble getting third party routes to load sometimes Krellnut said to start with a DTG/RSC route that always loads with no problems exit that after it loads and then load the third party route. I found that to work 99% of the time.

'Scuse me, Buzz, but I did not ask that question. Who cares how many times about that and what good would it do to know?

Perhaps you were answering your own post?

"Don't worry about talking to yourself or even about answering yourself, but start seriously worrying when you find start asking yourself, 'Huh?'." !*hp*!

To quote you:"too bad nothing keeps track of the number of crashes endured."

Here's how to have fun with crash reports (MDMP file), kiddies: 1) open Notepad, 2) drag a crash report file into it, 3) go !*roll-laugh*! .
