How do you re-engage TS2015 after a system crash

My system crashed and I had to run a recovery program to get win8.1 running again.

This deleted a number of apps including TS2015 it seams.

I noticed that the following path is still in my computer
D: steam library -> steam apps -> common -> railworks (this folder has about 72 items, file folders an single icon programs)

However when I click on the Trains Simulator 2015 icon, I get the message "Unable to open this Internet Shortcut. The Protocol "steam" does not have a registered program".

How do I get TS2015 back from this point?

Just reinstall Steam on your computer and it will take care of the rest.

Never heard of a system crash causing programs to get deleted. Are you sure you are not seeing your hard drive going bad?
