Pacific Surfliner Career Scenarios Won't Load

The career scenarios for Pacific Surfliner produce the following error message:

"Unable to load file - Tracks.bin."

I updated the physics for the F59PHI using the files available here. Before that, I completed one of the career scenarios.

My impression was a "Tracks.bin" error occurs when an aspect of the route changes, not from changing the rolling stock physics.

TS never fails to astound, in less than positive ways. !*hp*!

Press F2 click on save and you well be running. In one of the auto reply's from DTG support you got, that is what they use to tell you to do if you had a track bin error.

Well your error is do to modding the engine physics.
Career scenarios are check summed to prevent cheating on the Global Scoring.
If I remember correctly you can take any career scenario and clone it, then change it to a standard scenario so the game engine doesn't think you are cheating.
Also possible in RW_Tools me thinks.
Maybe only possible with RW_Tools.

Hi Trev:

Pressing F2 and saving did the trick. Thanks! *!!thnx!!*

Hey Eric:

I thought there had to be a mechanism in place to prevent cheating. I was able to use F2 and save, which allows the scenario to continue.

Yes, you can clone a career scenario in RW Tools, and then save as a Standard Scenario.

As I've said so many times before, without RW Tools, enjoying this simulator would be impossible. **!!bow!!**

You can clone a route or a scenario inside the game without using RWTools. Please don't make this harder for the noobs than it is.

Yes, but there's the part about changing it to a standard scenarion.

I swear a couple of years ago I had cloned a scenario then changed it to standard using the in game editing features...
That being said I couldn't manually change a cloned career scenario tonight. I looked at the upper right flyout but found nothing, so I clicked on the driver icon but still found nothing on where it was a career or standard scenario. Unless the setting was "time tabled passenger"?
Maybe you do need RW_Tools or at least an inside knowledge of where to change it. RouteProperties.xml maybe?

I installed the mod on the F59 locomotive on this same route, and got the track bin error also. I found out about F2, and now it works properly. BTW, the mod greatly improves the physics of the locomotives on this route and now the brakes don't take 30 seconds to release.
