Whistle Cord Stuck

Does anyone else have a problem when trying to blow the whistle using the mouse and after you use it the whistle stay stuck open? I has a problem with a few steam locomotive so I don't think it's a problem related to the model but rather the game.

This happens frequently, on diesels too.

I've never heard of a fix. I just use the spacebar.

Sometimes grabbing the lever or rope and pushing up does the trick too.
