FMC Railbox sounds

I apologize if I'm posting my question in the wrong forum, but I didn't want to hijack the original thread. I downloaded and installed the latest version on the weekend (great looking boxcars), but I find that there's hardly and sound coming from these cars (like silent death I had read in another post). Is there a file I should be adjusting to increase the sounds or file(s) I should be copying and moving from the WJsound folder?

You need to have the latest version of Krellnut's sounds installed that were posted in the file library this weekend.

Yes, it was done this way knowing some would have no sounds. You can do one of two things;
1.Download my wagon pack again, it will fix it.
2.Go into;RaliWorks\Assets\WJ Sound\Wagons. There you will see a folder named; Spare Bins and XML's. Make a copy of the contents, close folder, open Audio folder and paste in there. That will also fix the sounds.
The reason Larry and I changed the path was, originally the path was set to look into Kuju\ RaliSimulatorUS. The problem with this is cache verification will rewrite it. Now his car looks into WJ Sounds, and since neither his car or my sounds are touched by cache verification, this is the best way to go.

Thanks guys, I didn't realize there was an update to the wagon sounds. I've downloaded it and will go with #1.
Once again,

I have an older version of Krellnut's sounds (I think the first release) and my FMC boxcars have audio.

Then again I haven't updated the Railbox car to the new version either.

That's because they are both aliased to the Kuju file.

Just a quick question. I've downloaded the latest file, but before I click on setup should I delete the WJsound folder?
Thanks,

Okay... that didn't click at first but I reread the above and it suddenly made sense. I don't have hardly any experience with the aliasing files thing.

I've been testing out the latest FMC cars that MadMike did on the Stevens Pass route, and what I've found is all of the cars including the original from MainLines have no sound with the exception of the "VNO" car. I've looked in a couple of the bin files (hope these are the correct ones to be looking in) and it looks like the "VNO" is pointing to MainLines etc., etc., whereas the other two I checked (BCR & 50ftNEW) are pointing to WJ Sound etc., etc.
I decided to test them all out on the HSC route and they all have sound.
Which provider should these bin files be referencing?
I'm confused!

WJ Sound is the correct reference if you have the latest (Nov 1) version of the sounds installed.

You may need to edit the route and enable WJ Sound for that route to work.

I have all the latest and greatest patch/updates.
Didn't think of possibly having to enable the provider for the route, and to think I had read that in another post.
I'll give it a try.
Thanks,

Enabling "WJ Sound" in the route worked.
Sorry for wasting your time on something I should have remembered reading about. Another sticky added to my 24" monitor which is down to around 13" with all the current sticky notes on it and now getting smaller yet again.

No problem, I had to do the same thing. I'm glad you got it working.
