Using the RETB system in scenarios in West Highland Line route?

I've started writing shunting scenarios for the West Highland Line route, but cannot figure out yet how to make the RETB system work as it does in the career system scenarios supplied with the route. Someone who has managed to do this, please let me know how?

I have done it but it is to complicated for me to teach you how through the keyboard. It is something I could only attempt to teach on skype. Sorry but it does work.

Maybe at some point I will be able to type it out

The creators are going to release a tutorial on how to set it up soon.

When you are in the scenario editor you need to look in the brown bag I think it is clutter and look for the retb stuff. the first one you need is the token check and put that after the station near the blue sign with white stripes and have the sensor pointing in the direction of travel In the bottom box of the properties for it type in 11413. (Be sure to number your engine 37***210411413 asterisks are replaced with the number outside on the engine) then go to just before the loch aig outbound platform, near the blue sign whith white stipes that you see before you get to the platform heading toward Mallaig and go back into the brown bag and choose retb Radio overide. sensor the same as before and in the properties box put in 11312. again after Lock Eib OB By the next blue sign with white stripes add another retb token check thing and add the number 1312. do the same at Glenfinnan (use numbers 1121 and 1211) and Arisaig Numbers (11110 and 1110). If you are going to do a scenario whith it snowing then along the path you put in retb voice from the brown bag and use number 102. Hope this helps and it is as much as I have figured out so far. Any questions just ask and I while try to answer them.

When I get the chance I will try to type this out with a little better organization

As Italians say, "è già qualcosa": this is a good start. Many thanks and, when you get time for an improved version, it will also be welcome. I'll try using your tips the next time I edit one of my scenarios.

So, I gather that each station area has its own token check number: where did you find the list? There seem to be several types of tokens: one gives permission to use a particular section of track, another allows switching activities throughout a yard area (regardless of the yard's size) and with a different type of message the driver lets the system know that he has cleared a station area. The last five digits of the engine number are matched by the five used in some of the widgets, but does that set of five always have to be used or will any matching 5 digit series work?

A thorough explanation from the route's makers will certainly be welcome, but, again, what you have discovered *è già qualcosa".

*!!thnx!!*

P.s.: Wonder why the route makers didn't just place these widgets where they belong in the first place, or at least provide thorough instructions for their use. Near the end of the users' manual, the makers state that Steam Workshop scenarios will be welcome (gee, thanks guys !DUH! ), but then they fail to provide the basic instructions for making them using this unique signalling system. Double !DUH! !DUH! !

I opened one of their scenarios in the scenario editor and just started to experiment and new there had to be something in the track to trigger the responses. I am not sure if any 5 and 4 digits will work or not but it does seem that the radio override and the token check always match but the first digit gets dropped for the token check. There are only 4 or five different things in the brown bag (Misc or clutter) that start with the RETB and only figured out a few so far.I will have to do some more digging to figure out the shunting and the long tokens but the radio frequency change and the passed the station markers are built in to the rout so no need to do anything for them.
the ones I listed only need to be placed at the spots I listed where there is the stop boards for token exchanges/

Here is what I have found so far for the train number break down:

37425112309999

Break Down:

37425 = (Actual Locomotive Number)
1 = (NRN Radio Mode) – This is the only option for other routes (unsure of purpose)
123 = (Radio Frequency of 123 shown on Cabin Radio)
0 = token Type (0 = No Token (just enter system) 1 = section, 2 = shunt, 3 = Engineering, 4 = test, 5 = Int. Siding, 6 = Long)
9999 = As far as I can tell this number is used for the first token check. I use 1413 or 1616

09999 = (Must be used for other routes for the last 5)

P.S. For winter scenarios when you use the radio voice for snow drift messages you can use 102 or/and 101 for the number in the properties box for different messages.

For north american players who, like me, are scratching their heads about this whole thread, RETB means Radio Electronic Token Block.

It is a system of railway signalling used in the United Kingdom.

Yes I know that but I did not start it just thought I would contribute to it. Sorry if this bothers you and I will post no more about it. I will find another place to put it where it will be welcome.

Edit: And by the way I am a North American Player myself

What are you talking about?
It doesn't bother me at all, I'm just explaining to other readers what RETB means.
Also I was not talking to you, I don't know why you feel personally involved by my post.

Sorry It did not bother me maybe I was to tired and misunderstood what I read. I thought you were stating that because the name Railworks America that we should not be posting about foreign routes and I did not want to offend anybody.

My Mistake and please accept my apologies.
