Superelevation: Need help smoothing it out

Hello everybody. I'm working on a custom route of a local railroad. It has a few curves, and these few curves are superelevated. I know how to enable superelevation in the game, but it doesn't seem to do it smoothly. It simply pitches the curved track at the appropriate angle with no smooth adjustment into it. It goes from flat to curved, and this creates a violent thrashing of my locomotives when the point of change is reached. I'm not sure how to make the transition into the curve gradual. I hope it doesn't have to do anything with enabling superelevation after the track has been laid. I assume it should still work right. I don't know. Here are some pictures of what I am talking about. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You need to use the easement tool when laying curves, otherwise you'll wind up with kinks where the curve meets tangent track.

So it has to be done when laying the track? That would make sense. Easement tool. Not familiar with it. I'll try to fiddle around with it.
Thanks!
