Purchased item on steam, but item won't download

Hey guys,

I just bought the new GP50 on steam but for some reason the unit didn't actually download. It appears in my 'collection' tab from the TS2014 Main menu, but isn't available to drive, and doesn't appear in the RSC (or any) folder. I looked on my Steam details, and 'Not installed' appears next to it on the DLC list. Is there a way to re-download this via Steam??

That shows that the UP GP 50 is not installed. See the "tick" on the left of the UP GP50 "untick" it and then re-tick and it should load.
If that doesn't work try unticking closing steam, rebooting and then tick the GP50 again.
Look at that screen again and if it shows installed all is well!

Many people have had this problem with new purchases of DLC from Steam recently. I solved mine in the end by deleting Steam\Steamapps\appmanifest_24010.acf, and this has worked for others. When you restart Steam it will tell you it is installing TS2014, but it then appears to do a cache verify, replacing modified files and installing your new DLC.

I reported the problem to Steam Support, but it took over two weeks for them to reply, and the answer was no help - I've sent them another long message about the problem, but I'm not holding my breath.

I reinstalled the whole game because of that :-(

I have never ever had this problem. Once in while it won't D/L right away and I can usually get it started by just exiting Steam and starting it again. When all else fails I go off to work and within hours it always appears.

I guess you could put me up on the list of the people who have this problem, mine possibly being the single most annoying case of it... Validated files and 1.7 gig's worth of bad/changed files, alright Download it while I'm gone, seems like a good plan. Got home and found out the download stopped... at 98% complete. Every other game downloads fine but TS won't download and gets pushed out of the queue after a while. exited steam and restarted computer, not helping... Stuck at 98% complete! This is really making me mad.

Just as long as everyone understands that this is more of a internet and isp issue than a problem per se with Steam. I bet I have only had to verify two or three times in the last year. When we get to Florida next it'll D/L for a couple of hours and then if all goes as normal it will work fine.

I tried as Peter and Alan suggested, but to no avail. I reallly don't want to delete/reinstall TS. I'd rather try and get a refund on the GP50 and buy the VRC GP40 instead.

I deleted the appmanifest24010 file, restarted my computer, then launched steam. Steam shows "Downloading: 0 of 1 items complete'' at the bottom of the window, but when I click on the download details it shows 'download starting' and then just sits there. I let it run like this for a long while and no download actually started. I then opened TS2014, which ran normally.

Have you tried changing the Download Location? Seems kinda like people outside of the US are having this issue most. I did a file verify earlier this evening, and it did take a while (always has, tho - just kinda chunks along) but it did finish. My download location is "US- Los Angeles". (also no bandwidth limits or update schedule limits set)

Yesterday I had verified files as part of a diagnosis. This exact thing is happening to me right now, and has never been the case before. Has something changed in steam/railworks?

Also what ISP provider do you have? I have comcast.

The lovely (not really) xplornet. This issue is isolated to RW so its a steam or DTG issue not so much an ISP issue.

You might want to check out the STeam help section on the How To's. I had aproblem the other days and was wafting through there and noticed a "My dl stops at xx%" and they had a remedy for it. At work right n ow so I can n ot look at Steam.

Well, I uninstalled my steam desktop client in an attempt to see if this would fix my downloading issue. I of course didn't think to the consequences of this, as this appears to have also uninstalled all of my steam games...

I have a backup of my Siskiyou route I'm building from last week, but is it safe to assume that all of the work since then will be lost?
