Skunk Trail Route. Very Nice!

Unread postby Railroy19 » Mon Aug 04, 2014 5:10 am

Downloaded this new route and assets and it's really beautiful. I only have one small problem. my tracks are not showing up although I can still drive trains on the route, so maybe I do not have the track files in my computer.
Could someone tell me what files I need? The track system shows up on the 2D map but not when the train is moving.
There was a lot of work put into this route and it will be another favorite for us train fans.
I think I have most of the routes called for to have all the assets needed.
This route was made by Davis Elsner (dleeboy}

Thanks for sharing this with us.

Readme says 3D Trains Scale Rail and Scale roads freeware versions should work, so you should probably make sure you have all three scale rail packs: the "basic" RW pack, plus the ATSF and SP rail pack.

Not sure how critical the payware routes are to having all the track in this route; I have all the required stuff so the route is fine here.

I've got all the pay ware this requires but RW Tools still shows some missing items FWIW. Route looks fine though & some of those could be in compressed *.ap files too...

I thought I had all of 3DTrains tracks and roads. Will have to look into my files and see.
The roads are showing up all over, and look fine.
Another mystery to solve.

Good thing I'm retrired:)

Just did a build and new scenario and checked the 3DTrains asset rails and scenery boxes and then No 3DTrain tracks showed up. No wonder my route has no tracks showing.
I'm sure these assets were one of the first things I bought when starting in RW.
I'll have to look back at what I purchased and if needed will have to get 3DTrains.

Thanks, guys.

The box you are looking for 3DTrains and then in there the box is ScaleRail.

Ok I just downloaded and installed all of the freeware ScaleRail tracks from 3DTrains site. And the tracks still are not showing up for me.
thought I already had all of these tracks and roads but I must have been mistaken.
Now if someone could tell me exactly what tracks this route uses I will then purchase from 3DTrains the tracks I need. If not I guess I will buy them all
because they sure do look well detailed. In particular I would really like to get new tracks for Cajon pass if they are in fact made.
Thanks to all of you for your help.

According to krellnut who assisted in laying the track for this route all you need is:"The route uses 3DTrains;ScaleRail_Default. You don't need any other version from them."

Hi all I am the one that made the route. It is a mystery to me why the 3dtrains tracks are not showing up for some of you. I would like to know how many are not having any problems with route. Buzz helped with this route so he knows it works. Have everyone used the clear cache in settings section. This sometimes helps.

OK I just got back home. Now I will try again and see what happens.
I'm sure that 3dtrains was checked, but you know me! I must be a jinx.
Be right back.

This is what I found. No tracks showed up.
I then went into world editor and checked the 3DTrains boxes and they are all checked.
Looked into my available tracks and they are all showing up and could be installed.
I have all the tracks that 3DTrains has.

Must be my computer settings???
Not sure.

Clear the cache and see if that helps.

With any new installation to RW/ TS, I always clear cache before running the (whatever), so I did that before running this route and had no issues. It's just become a habit over the years I guess. *!!wink!!*
