CTD, Run Time Errors with Quick Drive

I've noticed that since the core .exe update about a week ago, I'm getting lots of seemingly random CTD errors with Quick Drive. Perhaps it's a coincidence, perhaps not.

I recently tried running a QD consist that I made, consisting of the GtraX Berkshire and 25 misc freight cars, mostly from HSC route. I tried running this on the new Pennsylvania Mon line yesterday, and it loaded and ran fine. Today, I've tried several times and it crashed the game each time. I cleared the cache, checked the QD consist in RWTools, checked the files for anything somehow missing, and everything is good. This consist runs fine on the HSC route and others.

I ran LogMate and got a list about 5 pages long of Runtime and Content errors, mostly for content that I dont even have installed. Pacific Surfliner route, being one. Also it was looking for blueprint sets for equipment that had absolutely nothing to do with the QD scenario I was trying to run (for example, the RWA RS-1, which BTW actually has the proper blueprints, I checked, so no idea why it couldnt find it). Huh? *!rolleyes!*

Looks like right before it failed it was having trouble with coupling mismatches (even though the couplings for all this equipment is default/untouched).

Any ideas?

Edit: it's pretty much any equipment that is not Mon Line, NS Sd40 or GP38 related. Just tried to run an ES44 from Stevens Pass on it in quick drive and it failed. Here's just the end of the LogMate File:

Is this by any chance the PONtrack.bin error? viewtopic.php?f=34&t=9915

Ok, so...I think I figured this out. And it's seemingly very strange. And Peter, PONtrack.bin was the first thing looked for, as I have had this issue in the past. !!*ok*!! Wasn't the problem this time though.

So, some background first: Yesterday I had created two Quick Drive consists using RWTools (as I have many times in the past), which consisted of the following:

Consist 1
CSX YN3 SD40-2 x2 (My repaints of Kuju base units), and 50 Coal cars from NS Mon Route

Consist 2
CSX YN3 SD40-2 x2 (My repaints of Kuju base units, light consist)

I had selected the Mon Route as one of the "ValidBuildAndDriveRoutes" when creating the consist in RWTools. BTW, both Consists worked just fine (no errors) within the Mon Route QD.

After these were created, I noticed that these two consists were spawning as AI during QD scenarios when I was running other units on that route. Seemed somewhat odd, but I dismissed it. Tonight, I finally decided to remove these two consists from the Kuju PreLoad folder where they lived, and low and behold, I haven't had a QD crash since then.

So, I removed the reference to the Mon line in the "ValidBuildAndDriveRoutes" section of both QD consist files, and all is good now. Based on what I had read in the RWTools manuals, I thought that this section didn't do anything - but clearly it does (or starting with recent routes, it does).

Never in a million years would I have suspected this was the problem, but somehow, it was! !**conf**! **!!bow!!** I've gone back and removed these "ValidBuildAndDriveRoutes" references in all of my user created QD consists across the board, and I haven't had a problem since.

As far as I have been able to determine "ValidBuildAndDriveRoutes" only makes the consist available as AI on the routes selected. That can be modified by setting the "ConsistType" as well. Very useful for customizing the AI for a particular route. One of my experiments placed various random GS-4 consists on the Seeburgbahn route. Amusing if not exactly accurate.
